Penn State wide receiver Koby Howard is out indefinitely with an undisclosed injury

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — Penn State wide receiver Koby Howard's hot start has come to a sudden stop.

Coach Matt Campbell said Wednesday that Howard will be out for an extended period of time with an undisclosed injury he sustained during a win over Buffalo last weekend.

Campbell did not specify how long Howard might be out, but added the injury was not season-ending.

Howard was injured while finishing off a 70-yard catch-and-run touchdown on a day he finished with 135 yards of total offense and two scores.

Campbell had been optimistic that Howard would have a chance to return on Saturday when the 13th-ranked Nittany Lions (3-0) open Big Ten play against Wisconsin. Instead, Penn State will face the Badgers without the team leader in receptions and receiving yards.

"Obviously disappointing for Koby, but he’s handled it really well,” Campbell said.
