Government At Your Door: Help Or Overreach?

Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey is pouring $2.25 million into expanding the Welcome Family program, which sends registered nurses into new mothers’ homes for government-backed visits and postpartum screenings. At the same time, the state has expanded abortion access later in pregnancy. The juxtaposition raises questions about government’s role in the lives of families—help after birth, or overreach from the same officials who widened later abortion.
